At NYANGA, we have a particular interest in sustainability, most notably the use of local materials and building methods. When building new structures, we align with sustainable practices, trying our hardest to reduce the eco-impact on the environment. We achieve this by focusing on the utilisation of earth construction materials.
This way, we reduce construction cost and increase the availability of local materials for any building project. The following methods are the ways by which we maintain environment sustainability during projects:
- Use of Rammed Earth;
- Use of Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB).
Use of Rammed Earth
With this technique, we make use of natural raw materials such as earth, chalk, lime or gravel to construct foundations, floors and walls. The major benefit of using this type of material is that it reduces the requirements for water or cement, therefore creating environmental sustainability during construction.
Use of Compressed Earth Blocks (CEB)
These materials are made primarily from damp soil compressed at high pressure to form solid blocks. Although the use of these materials lengthens construction deadlines, CEBs are non-toxic, biodegradable and fireproof. In other words, they are quite eco-friendly and cost-effective.
Overall, environmental sustainability is a major part of our core values. By working with us, you are guaranteed locally and internationally sourced eco-friendly building materials for all your project needs.
